Sky-Hat

So a a new name, a new (temporary) icon, and a bit of a new layout. Fewf! In regards to the new name; I have been thinking about changing it for some time, and since I'll be giving everything here a bit of a reboot over the next few months now seems like a good enough time. I'll still be Skyla since that name has been with me for years, but I'm enjoying Sky-Hat. Pointless information!

Life in general has been pretty dang good since Expo. I feel like I've come a long way in general, and I have some truly amazing people around me right now. I've learned a lot, and feel like I'm a stronger person. I've been able to see my amazing trio a good deal this holiday, which has made everything all the more wonderful.

I am also going to be living in the US starting in August for a study abroad year for my university course, so there is a lot of sorting to be done and a lot of to-and-fro-ing. I shall be back in my lovely England in time for May Expo thankfully, and before I leave I'm hoping to do one or two little cosplay things to have something to upload whilst I'm gone. So that's the update part - onto the meme!

It has honestly been an amazing few weeks. I got through my six exams and have now finished my second year of university, so am officially on holiday. And what better way to celebrate than to start off with a truly wonderful Expo?

Good times actually started quite a while before that, as I was also able to go and have an absolute /blast/ at Kitacon back in April. I can't even express how much fun that was, and am WELL and truly psyched for more conventions and breaking out some bigger cosplays for them too. Definitely in the spirit of enjoying my favourite hobby again, which is brilliant. Was also able to celebrate ArchangelMetatron's birthday right before Expo, which was mind-bogglingly happy-inducing.

In which there was an awful lot of dancing, and I was able to generally prat around with the most amazing people in the universe.

Friday night consisted of wonderous amounts of hilarity as a /very/ casual Shinjuro from Un-Go, with ArchangelMetatron as THE most adorable and cute and soul-chasing Inga imaginable. <3 I shall scoot my butt and join you for proper times soon, but thank you so much for being my Inga in all your panda glory. ^w^


More dancing. Of course.
Also peacocking occurred but we're not discussing that.

We somehow ended up walking alongside the Thames at stupid o'clock (after OCs were donned and I retired to my own hair) singing Phantom of the Opera, Hellfire, Just Can't Wait To Be King, and more general Disney songs than you could shake a Barma Llama at. And I'm sure we'll have tried.


That poor Barma Llama, courtesy of Emo-Tastic-Toaster. Only not really. I'm sure it had fun being punted about the Excel centre. Revenge.

So Saturday was Tiger and Bunny day! I suited up (sort of) with the utterly brilliant TaigaClaw and ArchangelMetatron as THE MOST UHMAYZING KOTETSU-SAAAAAAN AND BARNABABY EVER. Seriously. You guys make me fangirl. I was their Derp-- Keith, with oOForgetfulOo as our in-spirit Blue Rose/camera fiend.


We got the moves like Heroes. Pretty much sums up the day. <3

It was stoopidly hot, as it was all weekend, but it was still incredibly fun. And of course, we can't have T&B without an awful lot of crack!



Keith can also punch bees. Yes punch. Or at least one bee, which didn't learn its lesson the first time around.

We did actually get some really good shots as well, and dang if it isn't just so much fun wearing Keith. X'D He's such a herp.

Sunday dawned and that meant it was UTAPRI TIME. ARE YOU READY?!


And we thought Satsuki was scary.

We were only in casuals, but it was tremendously entertaining, comfortable, and silly. It will be even more fantastic to do some Starish versions, and act like even bigger fools and divas. <3 We did get some good shots of these as well, by utilising both oOForgetfulOo and the-xiii-hour despite one being our fabtabulous Ren and the other having a technical day off. 8P





We also found that the new 'Aloft' hotel sign made for a very good album cover. And Syo is small enough to get lost /anywhere/.


And the crack continued.


Until at last we were forced to retire to feed and collapse after a very long, but very much amazing weekend.
Unfortunately, poor Na-chan didn't quite get the message.

And Ren missed out on SPARKLY WATER TIEM.

Oh well.

We bid farewell to the-xiii-hour and in the morning did the same to Emo-Tastic-Toaster, before myself, oOForgetfulOo and TaigaClaw surged into the centre of the city for a further birthday day for our dear ArchangelMetatron. It topped off the weekend on such a highlight as we ambushed panda and Moomin shops, drank ourselves senseless on mango slushies and catnip tequila, ruined an Italian waiter's daily balance with cake comsumption, and were thoroughly happy even whilst being stalked by Britannia. Again. As had happened all weekend. ¬___¬

It was /such/ a brilliant few days, and I certainly can't wait for next May already. This summer shall be filled with much cosplay-making, me thinks, and again I want to thank all of the truly beautiful people who made this Expo such fun. Especially my special trio. I love you all 1000%.
